KENSINGTON — A murder suspect is on the loose and whoever is able to help turn him in could be eligible for a large reward.
Philadelphia police say on Sunday, July 21, just before 9:30pm, they responded to a crowd gathered at 600 E. Allegheny Avenue. That’s at the corner of E Street in Kensington.
They say people were surrounding a 22-year-old man who was suffering from several stab wounds. That victim was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later.
Surveillance cameras in the area captured several images of the suspect walking blocks away.
He’s described as in his early-to-mid 20s, with a thin build, mustache and beard. He had been wearing a dark green shirt — which he later removed — and black pants with a white stripe, and he was carrying a black book bag.
He seemed to be watched electronically over several blocks and was last seen walking east on Monmouth Street, from Kensington Avenue.
Police ask that if you see the suspect, do not approach him. Instead, call the Homicide Division at 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335, or 911, or the police tipline at 215-686-TIPS (8477) immediately. You can also text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847, or click here to submit a tip electronically. They say all tips will remain anonymous.
Police also say a $20,000 reward is being offered information leading to an arrest and conviction.
