EAST OAK LANE — A convenience store worker may have gotten the scare of his life when a robber walked into his 7-Eleven and held a gun to his head.
It happened at about 4:25am last Saturday, Nov. 9, in the store at 6771 N. 5th Street in East Oak Lane.
Video from the side and from above show the unidentified robber walking in, pointing a gun at the clerk and demanding he open the register.
According to Philadelphia police,
“When the employee hesitated, the offender pulled the complainant closer and put the gun to the employee’s head.”
On video, the suspect opened the register, took out the cash and change drawer, took about $150 and the employee’s phone, and then ran away.
He’s still on the loose.

The suspect is described as about 30 years old, and he was wearing a denim jacket, dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, light-colored jeans with rips and black boots, and he was armed with a silver revolver.
Police ask that if you recognize or see the suspect, do not approach him. Instead, call 911 or their tip line immediately. You can also email, text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847, or click here to submit a tip electronically. They say all tips will remain anonymous.
