Reward offered in last Philadelphia bank robbery of 2019

CENTER CITY — The FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force is offering a reward for information that’ll help catch the man who robbed a Center City bank, just over a week ago.

Authorities say the robber struck the Santander Bank branch at 1616 Walnut Street, just before 11am on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019.

They report he

“entered the bank, approached the counter, and presented a demand note to a teller.”

He got “an undisclosed amount of cash” and ran away, heading east on Walnut toward 16th Street.

The suspect is simply described as having an average build and scruffy black beard. He was wearing a black puffy winter jacket, black skull cap and dark-colored pants.

Authorities warn to use caution and not approach him, since he is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at 215-418-4000, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
