PORT RICHMOND — A man parking his car became the victim of an armed robbery and carjacking when two men stopped their car by his.
Philadelphia police say it happened early last Wednesday, June 17, at 3am.
The victim, 24, was on the 2500 block of Webb Street in Port Richmond, near Kensington, when one of the criminals pointed a black handgun at him,
telling the victim “to get out of the vehicle and give them everything he had.”
That man hit the victim in the head with the gun, but the victim was able to run and tell police officers.
Both suspects — who police call “unknown” — escaped.
The victim was not injured. He did lose his 1996 teal Honda Accord and his Alcatel 3B cell phone.
Police describe the suspects’ car as a newer model Jeep Cherokee.
They do ask that if you see the suspects, do not approach. Instead, call 911 or the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477) immediately. You can also email, text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847, or click here to submit a tip electronically. They say all tips will remain anonymous.
