Video: Man wanted for physically assaulting woman in attempted abduction

GAYBORHOOD — The suspect wanted for an attempted abduction over the weekend has been identified, and so has the car he was driving, but now Philadelphia police are asking for help finding him.

WANTED: Vaughn Omar Clark. Photos from Philadelphia Police Department

Police say Vaughn Omar Clark, driving a red Mitsubishi Galant, pulled up to a woman walking her dog.

It happened Sunday morning, just before 6am, in the 200 block of S. 13th Street. That’s between Locust and Walnut streets in the Gayborhood.

As you can see in surveillance video, police say the 28-year-old Clark got out of the car, physically assaulted the woman “and attempted to get her into his vehicle.”

Luckily, the victim was able to run away. Then, Clark drove north on 13th Street towards Walnut.

Clark is identified as 6’5” tall and weighing 165 lbs. His last known address is in South Philadelphia, on the 2200 block of Winton Street.

The car he was driving had Pennsylvania license plate JTS-4065, but no hub caps on any tires. Police say there may have been an Uber emblem on the right front and back windshields, an object hanging from the rearview mirror, and an object on the driver side front windshield.

Police warn to use caution since Clark should be considered armed and dangerous.
