Found: ‘Endangered’ woman in wheelchair from nursing home

UPDATE — Friday morning, Aug. 23, police announced Carrie Cromwell has been returned home.


SPRING GARDEN — Philadelphia police are asking for help finding a missing woman they’re calling “endangered” since she has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and is confined to a wheelchair.

Carrie Cromwell, 63, was last seen Monday, Aug. 19, at 6:30pm, at a nursing home in the 2100 block of Green Street in Spring Garden.

Police also say she had asked about Narcotics Anonymous meetings being held nearby at Xavier Church in the 2300 block of Green Street.

Cromwell is described as 5’7″ tall, weighing 268 lbs., with a heavy build, dark brown complexion, brown eyes and gray hair.

She was last seen wearing a blonde wig.

Anyone with information on where Cromwell could be is asked to call the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093, or 911.
