Video: Package theft happens when it’s not holiday season

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA — It’s annoying, happens more often during the holidays, but most people won’t be safe from it unless they happen to be home at the time of delivery.

Philadelphia police released surveillance video from South Philadelphia, taken April 26.

They say it shows a suspected thief opening a door and removing a package from the step of a home in the 1800 block of S. Mole Street, at about 4:40pm.

Police ask that if you see the suspect, do not approach him. Instead, call 911 or their tipline at 215-686-TIPS (8477) immediately. You can also text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847, or click here to submit a tip electronically. They say all tips will remain anonymous.
