Police make quick arrest after Tuesday deadly stabbing

PORT RICHMOND — Philadelphia police announced they’ve arrested the suspect in a deadly stabbing that happened shortly after midnight, Tuesday.

They say officers responded to the 3000 block of Agate Street in Port Richmond after getting a

“report of a person with a weapon and person screaming.”

Officers found a woman with multiple stab wounds to her head and body. She was pronounced dead at the scene, less than 20 minutes later, and identified as Kimberly Wescott, 32.

CHARGED: Rashall Jenkins, from Philadelphia Police Department

Then, at about 2pm, police arrested Rashall Jenkins, 26, from several blocks away in Kensington.

He is charged with murder, endangering welfare, corruption of minors, possession of an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person.

Police did not release a possible motive for the murder, or details about the “corruption of minors” charge.
