PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Police Department announced it has arrested one of its own officers.
Wednesday, the Internal Affairs Division took Police Officer Robert McDonald, Jr., into custody after investigating incidents of stalking and harassment that happened this past spring and summer.
Officer McDonald, 45, is a 22-year veteran of the department. He was most recently assigned to the 15th District. That area roughly covers Bridesburg to Mayfair.
Officer McDonald is charged with stalking and harassment. Both are misdemeanors.
Acting Police Commissioner Christine Coulter suspended McDonald for 30 days with the intent to fire him at the end of that time.
