Video: Woman wanted for checking out of grocery store with someone else’s phone

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA — This isn’t exactly shoplifting because the item taken didn’t belong to the store, but Philadelphia police are calling it theft.

They say at about 2:15pm back on Saturday, Sept. 14, a shopper

“inadvertently left a cellular phone on the counter after paying for groceries”

at the Acme at 1400 E. Passyunk Avenue. That’s near 11th and Reed streets in South Philadelphia.

WANTED, from Philadelphia Police Department

“A short time later the suspect is captured on surveillance video taking the cellular phone from the counter while paying for her items, then walks out of the store with the victim’s cellular phone.”

from Philadelphia Police Department

Police ask that if you recognize or see the suspect, do not approach her. Instead, call 911 or their tip line immediately. You can also email, text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847, or click here to submit a tip electronically. They say all tips will remain anonymous.
