Woman charged with murder, fire from almost 2 years ago

OVERBROOK PARK — It took more than 23 months, but Philadelphia police announced Monday they’ve made an arrest after a fire, and a man found stabbed to death inside.

The arrest happened early Friday morning in Norristown, Montgomery County.

CHARGED: Cheyenn Hurt, from Philadelphia Police Department

Police did not say how they linked Cheyenn Hurt, 24, to the crime.

They did say that on Sept. 9, 2017, authorities were called to a fire at a home on the 7500 block of Overbrook Street in Overbrook Park.

A 29-year-old man was found in the basement. He’d been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hurt — of West Chester, Chester County — is charged with murder, unlawful restraint, criminal conspiracy, possessing instruments of crime, causing or risking a catastrophe, criminal trespass, tampering with evidence, burglary and arson.
